Will my bank or lender accept this report?

Tracido produces a management-prepared Scope 1 + 2 report aligned with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard — the same methodology banks reference in ESG questionnaires and sustainability-linked loan reviews. It is not an assurance engagement or audit, so if your lender requires third-party assurance, they can hand the Tracido report to their auditor as the underlying working file.

What's the difference between Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3?

Scope 1 is emissions from fuel you burn directly — natural gas heating, gasoline or diesel in company vehicles, propane. Scope 2 is emissions from the electricity you purchase, which depends on your province's grid. Scope 3 is everything else in your value chain (suppliers, business travel, waste, employee commuting). Tracido covers Scope 1 and Scope 2 today, which is what most Canadian SMBs are asked to disclose first.

Which emission factors do you use?

Environment and Climate Change Canada's National Inventory Report, v3.0 factors — including province-specific grid intensity for electricity. When ECCC publishes an update, Tracido updates the factors and versions your historical reports so old numbers stay reproducible.

Is my data stored in Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Uploaded bills, activity data, and generated reports are stored in Canadian data centres. We don't sell or share your data, and you can delete your account and its data at any time.

Do I need an accountant or sustainability consultant to use Tracido?

Accepted Answer

No. Tracido is built for business owners and operators who don't have a sustainability team. If you can find your electricity and natural gas bills, you can complete a report. You confirm every number before it lands in the PDF, so nothing is a black box.

What data do I need to get started?

Accepted Answer

Twelve months of electricity bills, natural gas bills, and any fuel receipts for company vehicles or equipment. PDFs are fine — you drop them in and Tracido extracts the activity data. If you're missing a month, you can enter the kWh or m³ number by hand.

How long does a first report take?

Most first-time users finish a Scope 1 + 2 report in an afternoon. Subsequent years take under an hour once your facilities and fuel sources are set up.

Is Tracido a certification or an audit?

No. Tracido is a measurement and reporting tool. The output is a management-prepared report — the same category of document a company would hand to an external auditor if they later pursue third-party assurance. We're transparent about this on every report footer.
